Tornado Saferoomr and Tsunami Shelter(2011)

design of 'above-ground' Tornado Saferoom and Tsunami Sheleter compliant to FEMA 361,320 and tested for over 200 mph wind/impact. Design was done for (Sever Weather Pod, Inc. Lewisville, TX)


McClain's RV Park, Sanger, TX 2010,2011

Design of a 1000 square ft safe-room and remedy design of over 18,000 square ft long span structure (75' span) for commercial use.


Lake Pointe Marina, Garland, TX 2010

Complete Design of over 50,000 sq-ft (four-story) boat storage to be erected on top of a 15' tall concrete wall. The design included adjacent office buildings, retaining walls, sheet piles at the shore, etc. (3200 Zion Rd., Garland, TX).



Prior to ROSS Professionals llc, Mr. Koohbanani has performed several large designs throughout the State of Texas. The following is a brief list of some of his work while engaged with Jaster-Quintanilla Dallas. 


TXU Power Plant. 2007&2008   
Analysis and design
of 1/2 mile elevated Ash- pipeline structure including
crossovers and rail road- Bridge.
 (Martin Lake, TX.) 
  
Performing analysis, design, and detailing of monorails, transformer pads,
superheats assembly, boiler supports, belt feeders.
(Monticello, Big Brown, Martin Lake, and Sandow, TX.)

Analysis and design of several transmission and telecommunication towers,
monopoles, and lattice towers throughout the state of Texas.


Texas Transportation Institute Research Center,TTI. Commerce, TX 2007
Complete structural design of the hybrid four-story building including 
three-story concrete structure with elevated two-way structural slab on first
floor and steel framed roof.

Texas A&M Recreational Facilities. Corpus Christy, TX 2007
Complete
analysis and partial design of hybrid structure. The building has CMU
wall MWRS and gravity steel framing. The foundation consists of two-way 
elevated slab supported on concrete pier caps. The main gymnasium spans over 
100 ft in each direction.

Tarrant County Community College, Fort Worth, TX. 2006, 2007
Modeling and analysis of the entire buildings 1 thru 4. This structure is a
5-story concrete educational facility.
Analysis and design of building 7 of the project. The building consist of
tilt-up wall perimeter and long span steel joists. 

Pooya M. Koohbanani, Principal
M.Sc., P.E., LEED AP. 
 


Mr. Koohbanani has a Masters degree in Structural Eng.
from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX.
He has been practicing engineering since 1995 and is currently a licensed engineer in the State of Texas.

Other than engineering Mr. Koohbanani is involved in
educational activities through out the Metroplex.
He currently holds a part time faculty position with
Dallas County Community College and also is a volunteer instructor with Texas PCC.
